We're looking for a National Operations Manager to lead our operational performance across the UK and play a key role in driving efficiency, customer excellence, and continuous improvement. This role requires a strong, hands-on leader with exceptional operational oversight, commercial awareness, and the confidence to influence at all levels.
What you'll do
As an essential part of the Operations Leadership team, you'll:

Manage the effective delivery of operations nationally to achieve budgeted income and profitability

Lead and support Area Managers/direct reports through regular 1-2-1s, ensuring progress, challenges, and performance are well understood and actioned

Drive improvements in operational efficiency through continuous performance review

Ensure full compliance with all company procedures, systems, and processes

Implement business initiatives ensuring they are delivered Right First Time

Use regional market knowledge to influence decisions and shape how we operate

Support monthly sales revenue targets by authorising the best commercial deals

Resolve daily operational challenges while maintaining strong customer service focus

Champion operational KPIs and ensure alignment with company expectations

Manage maintenance for all current business units and new potential sites

Lead on employee wellbeing, safety, and company values

Work with People & Culture to attract, retain, and develop industry-leading talent

Support purchase ledger with invoice queries and ensure accounts are efficiently maintained

Assist H&S with audits and spot checks across the business

Conduct monthly site visits across major projects and regional customers to support sales growth

Review weekly depot reports to ensure efficient depot management

Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and P&L improvements

Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to solve operational challenges

Support Area Managers and direct reports across all business areas

Lead the successful setup of new depots ensuring they meet Lynch standards

Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across all functions

Develop and implement the Service Strategy and Hire Desk Strategy to be the best in the industry

Drive improvements in engagement, productivity, and retention across operational teams
What we’re looking for

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

Plant hire/construction industry experience (desirable)

Experience in a similar operational leadership role (essential)
