Our Transport Team plays a vital role in keeping our operations moving safely, efficiently, and on time. We’re now looking for a Transport Planner to join the team and help coordinate the daily movement of vehicles, drivers, and plant across the UK.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering a compliant, cost-effective transport operation.


What you’ll do


As a key member of the Transport Team, you’ll:

  • Plan and coordinate vehicle and driver schedules to ensure jobs are completed on time and in the most cost-effective way

  • Process both planned and reactive job requests from Account Managers and customers

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records within our transport management system (Syrinx), ensuring jobs are prepared correctly for invoicing

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with drivers throughout their shifts, providing guidance and support where needed

  • Respond promptly to operational issues such as delays, breakdowns, or last-minute changes

  • Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and internal procedures

  • Promote and support health & safety standards across the department, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Raise and manage movement orders for plant machinery, ensuring all STGO and regulatory requirements are in place prior to delivery

You’ll bring:

  • The ability to work effectively within a team environment

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • The ability to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment

  • A flexible and adaptable approach to meet changing business demands, particularly during peak periods

Your experience and knowledge will include:

  • Basic knowledge of plant and transport operations

  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network

  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office 365

  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to operate in a pressurised environment

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, operational or logistics-based role
