Based in Bradford Depot 
Full-time | Office-based

We’re looking for an Assistant Breakdown Manager to join our Service team and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day coordination of breakdowns, repairs and maintenance across our fleet. This role is ideal for an organised and proactive individual who understands the pace of plant operations and can work closely with engineers, the Hire Desk and customers to keep our machines moving.


What you'll do


As an essential part of the Service team, you’ll:

• Allocate scheduled and priority works to mobile engineers and approved subcontractors
• Raise and manage purchase orders for parts and components required in the field and depot, including subcontractor requests
• Provide technical support and information to both engineers and customers where required
• Coordinate parts orders through the Parts department to ensure engineers have what they need to complete repairs
• Assist with chasing and organising service paperwork including tyre repairs, hose repairs, glass replacements and supplier visits
• Support with incoming customer calls and log breakdowns accurately within the system
• Issue advice notes and ensure customers are informed of any damages identified
• Close purchase orders upon receipt and verification of supplier invoices
• Monitor multiple service inboxes and respond or escalate where required
• Chase customers for purchase order numbers relating to advice notes and arrange billing after seven days where required
• Process fitter and yard timesheets in line with weekly deadlines
• Monitor the off-hire damages WhatsApp group and raise the relevant advice notes where required


What we're looking for

• Strong organisational and coordination skills
• A proactive team player with a positive attitude
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Comfortable working with engineers, suppliers and internal teams
• Knowledge or experience within the plant hire or construction industry is highly desirable
